I watch the sunrise with my 3yo daughter pretty much every morning, it's kind of our thing that we do. This morning when I came out, it was still dark and within minutes the heavy cloud cover started to have a really faint purple cast to it. I said, I better get the camera, and was really happy that I did.

I shot another version that I need to stitch from 2 shots which will be a shift-panorama from the TS-E 17, will post it when I get it on Flickr.

Thanks David. I think that he's referring to the image below, taken with my EF 15mm f/2.8 diagonal fisheye on my 5D3 and then de-fished using DxO Optics Pro 9.0, cropped into a 2:1 aspect ratio to make it look like a pano:

Very nice shot Dave. So as not to think I only shoot birds...I like to reward myself when I get back from a hard day of shooting

Nice looking kitchen, Ed. I like the open front cabinets.

I really want to like good scotch, but just can't acquire the taste for it.

Thanks Mark. We took the cabinet doors off when we bought the place, and refinished them, but got used to the convenience of being able to see where everything was. I really like it.

Scotch is definitely an acquired taste. I'm pushing 50 and am just learning to enjoy it. The key is letting it breath and taking very small sips. I don't drink much beer anymore as I try to limit my carb intake, so I have learned to like a lot of different things the last couple of years.

Thanks Ed. I love the whiskey shot, but prefer color and the ice covered with whiskey.

I'm with you on enjoying my whiskey on the rocks. I don't care what the Scots say. Maybe, for a comparison, I'll try it neat, but on the rocks is how I enjoy it the most.

I will try a color shot soon. That one was a quicky JPEG from my Sony and the white balance was way off. Sounds like a fun project for the 5D3 and my Gorilapod

I can't drink it neat, it's just too strong for me. I like letting the ice melt for a few, and then sip. I have a special ice curb tray that makes big cubes that fit perfectly in a tumbler glass.

Looks like a juvenile Northern harrier to me.

Helluva wingspan for a relatively compact body. Killer shot, though. Do you hang around out there with mice strapped to you or something? How do you get the raptors to come so close?

Thanks. The face looked like a harrier to me, but the body shape kind of threw me, but a juvenile would make sense.

They are all over the coast right now as they migrate down the flyway. Luckily for photographers, northern harriers fly nice and low while hunting. I actually shot that one out the driver's window of my van

If you want to photograph a big variety (and also the Tule Elk rut), come out this way and the end of October, beginning of November. You can read about Hawk Hill online. It is just north of the GG bridge, and they do daily counts during this time of year and the sheer variety and numbers they spot are pretty amazing. Later on, I am going slightly inland and south, where golden eagles are known to winter. That would be really cool for me, as we don't get a lot of eagles out this way.

Some lab color adjustments in PS would make that scene look awesome, IRide.

Lots of squirrel pics from today, Ed. I was out testing the AI Servo on the 5D MkIII with the 400 f5.6 and 1.4x TC III attached.

Thanks, learning to use LAB color is on my to do list. Hopefully, my old mind is up to the task.
