MSport 704 suspension too stiff, move to 18”?

Even with regular P7 tires, under inflated, I find the suspension unable to soften these local roads. Thinking of moving from 19” to 18” with the taller side-walls. Do you think that would make a significant difference? Thanks for your help.

My 540i M Sport with 704 sport suspension came with the P7 A/S runflats. I didn't find the ride uncomfortable, actually fairly compliant given the stiff sidewalls of the P7's but the traction in dry and wet is awful with those tires. After just 14k miles I replaced them with Michelin Pilot A/S 3+ non-runflats and the ride is better and traction much, much better. You can pick other non-runflat tires but the ride is almost always more compliant than with runflat. With 18" wheels it could be better, but you'd still want non-runflats for most ride improvement, though steering response could be less depending on tire choice.

See above post - replace RFT with Michelin A/S 3+ or PS4. For emergencies, I have a Tireject package with valve remover, plug and Kensun Air Compressor). See TireRack

Ride and handling is improved vastly, especially on normal city streets, which get choppy in RFT.
