Just purchase another. It will be a lot less work to just VO code in EBT.

What do VO and EBT stand for?

There's a lot of pages to read, and some of the stuff isn't available/relevant to the G30.
I'm about halfway through that thread, and I'm learning a lot. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, I know you are right. Just annoyed that I've thrown it away.

Not even looked at updating e-sys - I've got an old Token solution. Will this still work or will I need to update? I know i'll need the new psdzdata - but they seem pretty easy to get.

VO coding does not require Token. But, if you you are doing FDL coding, you will need to upload launcher to 2.8.

I'll report back once I've had a play with it.. looks like there's 14 parameters that need changing to enable all the functions of enhanced Bluetooth.

Bimmercode is still a bit limited on G30, so e-Sys may be a better option depending on what you're looking to code.

One major plus of bimmercode for some is VIM at any speed, I believe e-sys can only do it up to a certain speed.

I think I will go for both actually - going to try Bimmercode as its only £25 and will setup e-sys because i've used it before.

E-sys is fine to use, just takes awhile to ensure everything is setup correctly.

Bimmercode is good for VIM. Otherwise, you will want E-sys for a G-series.

So - how easy is it to swap back to the standard speedo if you don't like the Alpina style display?

Very easy just code the Alpina Display back to 'not active', as original.

If you code the alpina display, the speed range increases to 200mph right? If so, will it stil accurately display speed on a 530i

Yes it displays up to 200mph. I presume the speed is correct. See if you can reach 200mph

The speedo is accurate, I've checked it against gps and it's exactly the same as the standard speedo calibration. (Reads 82 for an actual 80mph)

That's unusually accurate, 10% optimistic seems to have been the norm for decades. Need to remember that when it comes to setting cruise control.

Last couple of Mercedes I've had read 83 at actual 80, so fairly similar

Interesting, I'm pretty sure I'm 10% over in my F10 and can't remember the last time I was in a car that didn't read over by around that amount. I just figured there were too many advantages to being on the optimistic side and that it was an accepted practice. Thanks for the confirmation.

Just a thought.. Do you have a digital readout or are you using dial/needle?
A proper dial will be less accurate than digital readout and may well be 10% over.
I was talking about the digital readout.
