BMW is only German manufacturer not involved in emissions tampering scandal

German minister of transport released the test results of the government investigation of the VW emissions scandal.

27 different models and 16 auto brands are involved in emissions related inconsistencies. Only VAG/VW has used defeat devices. On the other hand, manufacturers like Mercedes and Opel for instance has a BlueTec system that is turned off when temperatures are below 10 deg C (MB) or 17 deg C (Opel). Which means that in many parts of the world the MB taxis run around all winter without the NOX reduction provided by the BlueTec system.

According to the German newsreports the only German manufacturer not involved in any emissions trickery is BMW!

The list of manufacturers found to not comply with emissions standard in this German government report is:
  • VW
  • Audi
  • Skoda
  • Seat
  • Porsche
  • Mercedes
  • Opel
  • Renault
  • Alfa Romeo
  • Chevrolet
  • Dacia
  • Fiat
  • Hyundai
  • Jaguar
  • Jeep
  • Land Rover
  • Nissan
  • Suzuki

Diesel will still have a bad name after while. Seem like one thing that was never cheaped out with bmw was the powertrain departement.

Back in the early-mid 2000's BMW diverted capital from other projects including vanity projects into product expansion -X3,6er(2003) and into meeting upcoming legislation with the EfficientDynamics concept which was first presented in an X3 model at the 2005 IAA before the features were introduced to all new BMW models from early 2007 under the term EfficientDynamics.

EfficientDynamics helped achieve Greater recognition for BMW winning many awards for its intelligent approach to sustainability that left its competitors rushing to catch up.

The crowning moment was the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept of 2009 with its unconventional drivetrain which apart from the Diesel power plant made production four years later as the BMW i8.

Today EfficientDynamics includes many new methods in its philosophy and continues to make EfficientDynamics the pinnacle in its class and why BMW will be one manufacture to achieve the goal of being a manufacture to reach their EU/Cafe targets first.

This is a directive from the Quandt's because it also assists other assets in their portfolio achieving new business especially in environmental and renewable energy contracts.
