I agree and no one's ever been able to prove to me without a shadow of a doubt that lease > purchase. Once my cars payed off, I can enjoy the last 3 years of owning it with extended warranty with zero car payments. Just more money to save and invest.

Sorry 335 wins...135 is fugly and although looks are subjective...most people (Ive seen 75% on most forums) will agree the 135 is ugly...
If its not the 1 forum, I think you can bump that percentage to 85%.

I admit. It does look better in person. Better than a 335? No.

Definitely better in person, but the E92 is a much better styled car.

I agree on purchasing, especially if you keep a car for longer than 4 years. When you buy a car, you get a car. When you lease a car, you still have to pay a lot, if not most, of the car's value, and get left with nothing.

the debate for me leasing isnt a factor. i buy most my cars and was gonna lease my next car for personal reasons.
but to my surprise the lease payments were as told.
but like i said for a couple grand more(2-3) i cant help but lean toward the 335i in every aspect. just makes more sense, get more for what u pay.

other then looks, the small interior space and small rear seats are a turn off, but im sure people looking to buy this car arent looking for that. the exhaust note, and the single side exhaust is a major downgrade IMO, the 335i exhaust look and sound are just OMG! the rear of the car looks too small to the rest in some views and the front headlights need something to be done to them, the rest seems to be nice eye candy

If you need interior space, and a functional back seat, it's definitely an easy choice. The 1 isn't quite as bad as a 911, but it's a lot smaller than the E92.

Do you guys think the production line will change to US-US since the US dollar is so weak?
but then...don't think it'll make a difference

And using this information and the rumor that the 535i and, the 135i share the same engine we can speculate that they are both detuned OR bmw hasnt lied about there power outputs as per the 335i. i do think the 135i is detuned and i have heard it before, if looking at the numbers doesnt tell the story im sure the dynos will.(135i being about 200 pounds less and not being able to out run the 335i)
interesting topic non the less. im sure we will see more of these.
AA just installed their Active Processor in a 1'er, said it was right in line with all the 3s and 5s that they've done. They say they'll have dynos up soon. I'm sure we'll start seeing some more dynos soon.

The last paragraph of the very recent Road&Track 135i full test somes up the argument 335i/135i pricing perfectly.

Especially the last sentence.

Road&Track:
"The 135i is a driver's car, a "gotta have" car. The question, though, is at what price. The Euro has not been so kind to the dollar and that's reflected in the 135i's base price of $34,900. Throw on a premium package that includes the glove-soft Boston leather and you're in the neighborhood of $39,000. Add navigation and you've zoomed past 40 large, which puts it solidly in the larger and more comfortable 3 Series territory. So the question is - do you want comfort and size, or do you want to drive?"

Yeah, that's just a little ridiculous for a lease payment on that car.

I agree completely, we won't know until we get the two cars in the same place at the same time.
