I should be getting my car in a few weeks. I have the B&W and read that it plays flac files. I picked up a Samsung T5 1TB SSD. I have a few questions:

1. Should I format it to exFAT?
2. Should I create folders or just dump all my music files onto the main directory and let the car sort things out using the metadata of each file?

Also have the same SSD, works great. Stick to FAT32. Create folders as "playlists" - makes it easier to choose from a TB of music. There are also apps that will set up playlists in correct format and ease managing.

NBT will read NTFS. There is limit to indexing so it is wise to use some folders.

Also interested in this. On a side note are there any decent sources of HD FLAC audio out there? Kicking myself for getting rid of all my CDs when I went digital. Maybe I just need to start re-buying CDs and making my own 😱

There are websites that sell HD or Hires FLAC files, but they are generally expensive and need playback systems that can handle 96/24-bit and 192/24-bit quality.

While FLAC or lossless media is best served to the B&W system, HD audio may be overkill. I would stick to normal lossless files (FLAC) and one way to get them easily is to subscribe to Tidal (CarPlay) which has an option for lossless streaming of their large on demand library.

There are plenty of legal and otherwise sources. Quick internet search will bring up both.

Well, yes I did mean legally. My searches have mostly turned up sites with more independent artists, not really big names. I'll look more. Thanks.
