Pics- Aftermarket mirror caps and spoiler installed
I bought some aftermarket replacement carbon caps off amazon for $165 shipped and a spoiler from eBay. Surprisingly they fit PERFECTLY.
The caps are full replacement covers and took about 5 min each side to install. They are thicker and heavier than the originals. Not full carbon fiber, they appear to be hydrocarbon then cleared over. They look fantastic and the quality is just like oem. Time will tell if they fade, my other hydrocarbon parts on my Z06 have held up perfectly for 3 yrs so far in the sun. Pics below |

Did you tint your tails or is it just the lighting in the pic?

They are tinted with lamin-x gun smoke. They don’t make a setup for the 18, only 17- but I was able to get them to work. Laminate-x also is sending me the same pattern 1” wider so it covers better but this came out decent. You have to use some heat to get it to form to the complex contours. I also tinted the bumper reflectors and front orange markers. Lamin-x is a nice product. It peels off anytime and 95% light passes through.

Here are some pics, classy (I think so) not blacked out but just a little offset from the red and lights are not dimmer at all. I forgot to mention the bumper lights and markers are not precut I manually cut them from their 4” roll since the 17- kit wasn’t close to to fitting. Only the taillights were close enough. Stuff is cheap though

Hey, wondering you can help me out. I ordered mirrors caps just like this. How did you take off the old ones?
Some people tell me to take the glass mirror off first..or take the back cap off first. Appreciate your help! |

No, i have no idea what those videos are talking about that says you have to do this, i tilted the mirror glass down, shined a light in there and you can see 2 tabs on each side up top. I took a flat screwdriver with the shaft wrapped in electrical tape in case it touched the housing, turned it will pulling the cover off. Did the same on the other side, then it pops off pulling from the outside in at an angle. It VERY easy, should take less than 5mins to get the cover off. There are ONLY those two clips you can get to without an issue, removing the glass is not needed.
