Hardwired Radar Detector - F30 / F32
Hey everyone,
I thought I'd share some quick pictures of my afternoon project. Instead of buying the invisicord, I took a black telephone cable, stripped the ends, remove the mirror cover, placed the ends inside the 12V and ground box thingy, secured with electric tape. Voila! No need to cut into the electrical cables. Pictures below: |

I took the picture below from another thread. Some more details:
- I took a normal telephone cable (it has 4 cable/colors), figured out which ones the Escort uses for power and ground. - Then I stripped the ends of the telephone cable and exposed approx. 15mm of cable. - I placed the exposed ends in those black honeycomb looking boxes (green power, brown ground) until I was sure it was touching metal. - Secured the cables with electric tape so that they would not come out. - Secured the entire cable with electric tape. - Placed the mirror cover back on. Sorry for the terrible English and lack of proper names/terms. |

So you made a DIY invisicord, except no pins on the end? Go to Radioshack and buy a D-Sub male connector (it should have a pack of pins in there you just crimp on the wire) and some heat shrink tubing
