Wider tires.

Hi, I'm looking for a wider tires like ad08r or cup2.
So if the stock ones are 255/35 and 275/35, my wheels will be 9.5 and 10.5, what tires do I need to use?
I think that is possible to install the 275/30 and 295/30 tires, but the wheel size will be 14mm smaller for the front and 16mm smaller to the rear.
The 265/35 and 285/35 will be 7mm bigger.
The other choice is to use the set of e92m3 of my friend 265/35 and 295/30, but front wheel will be bigger and the rear will be smaller.

So whitch way do I need to go?

Tnx.

Honestly I think you are much better off staying with the stock PSS that are designed specifically for this car. Unless your streets are much better than the ones I drive on, 30 series tires are going to be trouble.

I def need some CUP2 tires for track days. This tire has much more grip.
It is like to use rs2 on 1m) I switched to the ad08 and rs-3 and was happy.
The open question is - what size?
I can go:
255/35 275/35 like stock
265/35 295/30 like e92m3 people go
265/35 285/35 just 1 size bigger (7mm)
265/35 305/30 like one of the guys in Sochi will go

I drove 335i 420hp and 1m 450hp at winter and I can say that the car with LSD is easier to use at winter that the car with open dif like ordinary bmw. I got the Quaife on my 335i tho.
Just I need to get the Michelin Pilot Alpin 4 and everythink will be okay - I like this tire!

275/30/19 and 295/30/19 are a very acceptable 2% reduction in tire size from the original 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 tires.

A 2% reduction in outer diameter is about the most I'd accept, but is well within reason for performance setups. I would not install tires on a client's car that were 3% smaller than the OE diameter, but we have gone 2% shorter for many years with no issues.

One other item to consider- the sidewall profile number in a tire size is a % of the width, not an equal indicator of sidewall height.

This means that going from a 255/35 to a 255/30 tire would give you a dramatically shorter side wall, but going from a 255/35 to a 275/30 only gives you a very slightly shorter sidewall- not short enough to make an impact in relation to ride comfort or potholes.

The next step is determining wheel offsets that will work well with the 275/295 tire combination!

A 295/30 is almost identical in sidewall height to the front 255/35 so why would it be trouble?

Tnx. I got the 9.5 +22 front and 10.5 +35 rear.
Unfortunatly the Michelin Pilor Sport CUP 2 doesn't exist in 275/30 size and I'm stuck in going stovck size 255/35 and 275/35 or to go 265/35 front with lower rear.
If we will go back to e92 m3 it had 245/35 and 265/35, but the m3 gts had 255/35 front and 285/30 rear. May the way to is 265/35 and 295/30?

Now I'm thinking on going with the stock sizes - it def. be okay)

I think those wheel sizes will work for you.

I would not suggest using a 265/35 front, it's likely that the tire will be too tall and could rub.

Are you considering anything along the lines of Advan AD08?

I was thinking in getting ad08r, but I've got the ad08 on my 1m and I can say it is almost identically to the rs-3 which costs 1.5 times less. So for this price I want to try the new tire - cup2 and I thing I will try firstly the stock size 255/35 and 275/35.
