I'm basically looking to mask off the majority of my bumper, and simply repaint the part that's all scraped up right now.
I purchased a can of aerosol paint in my color, along with the clearcoat can- just wondering if anyone has the facilities and the experience, and would be willing to help me do it. Alternatively, should I just return the spray cans and have a body-shop do it? I'm on the fence here! |

Dont do it dark knight. Return the cans and get it done professionally. I did this on my corolla and it looked like S*** lol
Either leave it the way it is or get it done professionally. It will look worse if you spray it. |

Methinks you're right brother... I don't know what the fuck I was thinking LOL
Guess I'll go get some quotes around the area soon. Anyone in the New Jersey area know of a really good body/ paint shop? I'll have to take the clear bra off my bumper, but I suppose that's a small price to pay- it's lifting in some areas and has to be redone anyway... I hope ExpressPaint accepts returns! |

Nah, just trying to cover this up on the cheap, but looks like I'll be banged for a restocking fee if I try to return it to express paint- oh well...maybe I'll just sell them to a forum member.
Not the lil mystery puddle, the scrapes :-S |

Just do it yourself, whats the worst that could happen? Its the same exact color that is on your car. So any way it comes out will look better then how it is now. There's a diy on here for filling holes in the bumper from a license plate bracket that goes over repainting the bumper with rattle cans.

I have similar scratches on the underside of my bumper--I had to get out of a driveway that was far too steep for a E90 328xi @ factory ride height.
If you want to save some coin, you could try filling the scratches in yourself. I think this is probably the best way to do it--it seems almost identical to the process of brazing metal. However, that seems very involved--maybe there's an easier way. There may be a special body filler that will work for bumpers, but I do know for a fact that poor scratch filling can lead to cracking. EDIT: This video also shows a variety of techniques that you may be inclined to try |
