3M Di-Noc

Thought i'd share this... It's basically just 3m vinyl wrap but for architectural purposes and applies very easily.

Gotta get the Bubinga high-gloss mang.

...I want someone to do it. It probably wouldn't be too hard to convince the VW Golf/Polo guys to try it. They're cool like that.

di noc is pretty old.. im a fan of the scotchprint for fake carbon fiber and brushed finishes as its thinner and doesnt have as much of a texture to it

This is true, but I've found that the scotchprint tends to have "waves" in the carbon fiber pattern. Though it's easier to work with, it is noticeable on larger body panels like a roof.

yea when you heat it and stretch that can definitely happen. Ive only done small trim pieces so it isnt as noticeable.

Di-noc is old news and not really suitable for automotive use.

I wouldn't suggest DiNoc for your car. DiNoc was what everyone was using for vehicles a few years ago, but since then 3M has released much better quality wraps.

DiNoc is an architectural film (literally). I know alot of architects who use the material for interior designs and walls.

If you are looking to do an exterior wrap of any sorts i would recommend 3M's Scotchprint instead. Its about 1/3 the thickness and so much easier to work with. As well its designed for exterior use so it will hold up to the heat and UV.

About 2 years ago i wrapped my roof with black CF scotchprint and its holding up really well. You can crumble it up and then use a heatgun to bring it back to life perfectly. I would highly recommend it: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...ns/Series1080/

did it myself. Took my time and spent plenty of time with the hairdryer. This was the second thing ive wrapped. I did my e46 trim years ago. Since i have added a blue stripe on the bottom of the trim to bring the blue color of the car inside. Its a take on the f30. Ive also wrapped my exterior mirrors with this vinyl like the m235i.

Thanks. Key was to definitely remove the vents and cut the vinyl from the center of the corner diagonal out. That definitely helped.
