I don't see the point.
I changed my cabin filter just the other weekend, and to say that the total of those plastic covers is 5kg seems like a wild over exaggeration to me. I'd say you'd save 1 kg weight at best. The burger tuning filters look like all sorts of crap and debri can blow onto your windscreen and settle on them. I don't see the point at all. |

The BMS cowl filters just make engine access easier for guys who are always in the engine bay working on the car. I reckon I have removed the BMW cowl 25 times in the last 5 years and I don't work on the car as much as some people do.
You can make changes, drive the car, do your logs and not have to remove and replace the cabin filter and cowl every time. There is a small increase in engine cooling as well.

+1 removing the cowl is the most annoying part of working in the engine bay
I would love a set of those, but sure how they'd stand up to a big soaking like washing the car |

also just realised the water will run straight into the engine bay instead of onto the cowl and down the sides....might not damage anything, but will end up with a dirty engine bay.
