But it's fast, so you'll forgive it. May look at one for my wife's next car, can't believe the R works out better than a GTI!

What do you expect from a "sub premium" car?!

You know what problems "premium" cars have, so makes sense that lower quality cars will have more problems!

Pretty good for a VW then!

I thought you had owned VW, so would know the score.

My Mk6 GTI had only one problem. The rear bumper was wavy in the number plate area and was replaced under warranty. No other problems. So pretty rock solid.

So.
What you're actually saying F30AM, is considering the problems some people have had with their F3xs, the Golf looks very reliable and well built.........

I did notice that the forums 'over there' do list a lot of issues as well as positives, however I think bang for buck you've made a top choice. Wouldn't fret as I'm sure you're not, how long to go?

I think most of the cars are early production ones and the newer ones seem rock solid. Most of the owners say their cars are pretty near perfect and they are a really fussy bunch of plonkers. Not as nice as you guys on here. Can't say a word against the 7R and they have hissy fits.

I've had my GTD for 6 months and it has been perfect.

Paint in particular is one area where it excels. Quality is miles above the BMW orange peel effort.

I am on provisional BW37 which means bugger all. The VW Tracker is kaput but the dealer updates me. I don't want the car until mid Dec as I am going away to my place in Greece for 2 to 3 months come Sept.

Dealer feels it will be with them mid to end Nov so BW45 (Nov 3 to Nov 9.)

One thing the cars don't have is BMW Orange peel but lots of complaints of soft paint and easily chipped by stones. Clearcoat problems.

It's trying hard to be Premium and not the other way around.

I mainly bomb up and down the A406 - North Circular. 10 miles each way.
And the A40 - Westway. 7 miles each way.
