XPEL on Half the Hood or the Whole Thing?

I got my XPEL done on half the hood and am wondering if I should spend the extra coin to get the whole hood done. The guy that did it for me told me that it would be a waste of money...

Thoughts?

Looks like shit with 1/2 the hood. After time you will get swirl marks in the paint from washing and the Xpel part of the hood will be nice and smooth. You will also get wax buildup at the line where the expel stops. I had my whole hood whole front fenders whole front bumper and headlights done. You can't tell where it stops and starts.

The cars being wrapped here have always been full front clips.

Just don't like seeing seams (same goes for the wax buildup), I'll look for it every time getting in/out of the car. Maybe its the OCD kicking in.

Yes the protection up there may be pointless... But do you really want to see that seam all the time?

That would drive me insane.

Tom is totally right.

IMO, it's whole or nothing at all.

Did your installer do a good job, would you recommend him? Last person I tried didn't work out well.

I'm getting the full hood done plus the front bumper, fenders, headlights, mirrors, door cups and edges. I can't stand the look of only 1/2 the hood because it looks like a big scratch.

Go with full hood. One ugly factory hood line is enough. No need to add another.

14 years in the paint protection business, I would recommend doing the entire panel or don't do it at all. If you get a chip an 1" last the edge you will be mad. If you decide to stick with half only use spray wax over the film so you don't get wax build up on the edge.

I just did euro delivery on mine. I get her in hopefully 6-8 weeks. I'll be doing the entire car which may be over kill but will be a good demo. I'll post pics when i'm doing the car.

Well I won't have them rip off what they did and charge me double to do the entire hood and fenders, that's just throwing money away. It's too late, the deed is done.

How much should we plan to pay to get the front end done in XPEL?

Prices vary all over. Depends on skill level of installer, what market your in etc. On average we charge 900 for standard front and approx 2000 for full front. Custom work can be more.

Thank you
