Buttons sticking

My wife spilled a drink a couple weeks ago. I thought she cleaned the mess up but now several buttons are stuck. Any suggestions besides finding another wife?

Spray a very small amount of cleaner/degreaser onto the buttons and actuate them to get the cleaner to penetrate the the sides of the button and free them up.

Make sure car is off and use small amounts at a time. As Fantasm stated: spray, actuate, repeat.

This should take care of your problem. If not, it is possible to pop the trim piece holding the buttons out easily, which will allow you to clean from the inside. There's a previous thread, which was fairly busy, discussing replacing the cup holder where this process was described.
