Any 320d RR Tips?
Firstly, what gear would you run a manual in?
I assume the ABS and TCs and everything else sorts itself out afterwards?

The operators will know which gear to use. In the past, cars I've had dynoed have used third and fourth gears.
The ABS, TPM and DSC functions will all sort themselves out after a few miles of normal running. Regards Chris

Get the car on the rollers.
Stop the car - ignition off. Restart the car - Before you move. HOLD DOWN DSC for at least 5 to 10 seconds the Yellow light should come on. Then drve off up to the gear you need. 4th should be ok for you. As long as it doesn't get anywhere near the 155mph limiter you'll get a good reading. Where are you having it done ? What sort of Dyno ? As it's a turbo car ask for an "uncorrected" STD run as your car engine managmetn system already accounts for changes in temp and pressure. Try and get wheel HP figures, as well as your estimated Engine BHP. Same for torque etc. Have fun and get some photos SJ |

Cheers SJ. I thought I'd get the specific answer I needed.
RR will be at Awesome GTi, it's a Dynoje and they've used to running Turbo and NA cars. It's given some "unusual" figures at other days at it typically gives low loss figures. Consistent, though. I started to look at ATW figures a couple of years back anyway. http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/rollingroad.html Someone I know ran his 330D last year, e-maps remapped (if you're reading this Simon, it's Wilko's), if anyone wants to use it as a yardstick and give me their impression... http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/rolling...wilkinson1.jpg http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/rolling.../wilkinson.jpg http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/rolling.../wilkinson.wmv

IT will detect no movement on the front wheels and will assume wheelspin and cut you power.

me neither...
It's no biggie. Normally takes a few restarts and about 100 yards around the block before it realises we've stopped torturing it. SJ |

Aye, I expected as much, I just wanted to check as BMW seem to have their own "unique" thoughts on how ASP/DSC should work

Mine came up with something, cant remember what now. After shutting down and re-starting it went away.
243bhp for a 330d aint bad, altho im sure they can be mapped to 270+

Just to close this one out, the "official" has just been posted.
It's taken a while because the original day had to be postponed, but we managed to reschedule on the 26th April. Graph is posted on http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/rolling...cn_260408.html there's a video if you're bored. Some cars on there with "issues", but some nice runs from the Cordoba, the Golf GTi and particularly the Grey Leon Cupra 2 (11th down on LH Side)...

Actually, it's a nice conversion (Bigger turbo, head with larger ports, FMIC, WI etc) because of the way it spools - by the time it's really boosting, you've got grip. Sort of There's a few guys now running that sort of power in Golfs/Leons/TT's on bigger turbos, although perhaps not quite as much as that one. Fairly cheap parts from the states and a good choice in remappers, including "off the shelf" remaps for certain big turbos. Maximum FWD "fun" from a couple of Mk3 Ibiza's (same 1.8T as the Golf GTi) - one I think has over 480 whp The Mk2 Leon Cupra has essentially the same engine as the new S3, the one on the RR page has fairly average mods (intake, exhaust + remap) and has 325 bhp and 395 ftlbs. Cheap power, that.
