Reg Brake vs M-sport Brake (upgrade), are the calipers the same size for a U.S. spec F30?

Nope. Depending on the model, the M Sport brakes may get you the same calipers as the M Performance brakes, but they're always an upgrade over standard.

There's a great thread with all of this info. Can't find it on my mobile, though.

I think the base/non-sport models get a different brake though. Mine feels more "grabby" than an msport brake. The msport feels more linear.

Rear calipers are larger and upgraded to 2 piston vs 1 piston.

Front calipers are larger. They're additionally upgraded to 4 piston vs 1 piston for 4 cylinder models. N55 models already come with 4 piston fronts as standard.
