a little confused on mtech rear?

hey guys my 335 doesn't have the mtech package so I'm looking on how to get the mtech rear, only because i plan on getting a CF diffusor in the future. i dont get what is needed? is it a completely different rear bumper or just a diffusor?

The bumper is completely different, you need the bumper and diffuser......OEM M-Sport rear non painted is around $700 plus another $2-300 for paint.

Diffuser goes over your exhaust and it bolts on. Search e90 335 cf diffuser and you'll find lots of options.

I just recently converted after a hit and run incident. you have to get a whole new bumper. Parts needed are msport bumper, the diffuser, and the plastic piece between diffuser and bumper (with their part numbers):

M rear bumper trim 51 12 8 041 203
Rear Bumper Cover 51 12 8 041 192 1
Rear Diffuser 51 12 8 043 897

I tried looking for add on diffusers before on my non-msport bumper but there weren't any good looking ones and a lot of them were mounted on the bottom of the car where you can't really see it.

No necessarily true... Remove the parenthesis: (http://www.)(**********s)(.com)(/BMW...r-Diffuser.htm) CF and it attaches to the stock 335 dual exhaust bumper. It is a pretty penny @ $700 but you don't have to put a new bumper on. They recommend that you have it installed professionally to ensure that fitment is perfect but it looks pretty sick...

You have to purchase a whole new bumper. You cannot just attach a diffuser to the non m-sport bumper. Once you have an m-sport bumper, you can swap out the diffuser for other styles.

There are non OEM but you only save around $100-150, I would much rather pay the extra $$$ to get OEM.

Any pics installed? There are still subtle differences between stock and m-sport such as the curves of the bumper IMO

Yeah @ Averdi, these guys are right... Sorry... There are pics on the product URL I posted that moderator redacted. Just search E90 335 cf diffuser and it is the first result on Google in the US after images.

Update - extral mile for leading you astray. I called MB and they said to install the product I tried to share with you, it does need the MTECH bumper first.

of course. every, and I mean every CF diffuser i've seen is placed on top of the msport. There are only custom CF add ons. That's why I found it weird that MB would sell such a thing since your link didn't work....

(I've spent many hours looking in the past before doing the conversion)

Nice, thanks. I still think paying $400 for one is a better deal even though it's a rep. I haven’t read any complaints on the reps so far.

Look on http://www.rockauto.com/

It's $330ish without parking sensor and $10 more with. Shipping from them in Wisconsin to me in California was @$99. Probably less for you.

You'll have to enter your car info and find it yourself, they don't seem to have direct links to their product.

I did front M3 bumpers and sideskirts from ebay sellers many people here used and the msport rear I got off rockauto for much less than the other options were. The part from rockauto was excellant quality and OEM fit. Yes, OEM fit. I had absolutely no problem with that rear bumper cover.
