Transport Mode Rev Limiter
Is there a transport mode rev limiter that maybe my dealer did not reset? I am still in break in so have not been revving my M4 much, but on a couple of occasions I hit 5k RPM and when I did, it was like hitting a rev limiter and the yellow lights on the tach started flashing sequentially. This has happened twice.
I have not heard of anyone else that was unable to exceed 5k rpm during break in.

That's why I was wondering if there was a "transport mode" that should have been reset before I took delivery.

My E46 M3 wasn't either. I have not heard of a "transport mode" either, so I guess my M4 is "defective". Have to get it check out.

My 1st E92 M3 was delivered with the transport rev limiter still engaged which limited the revs to a little over 4000 rpm.It went off by itself after about 50 kms.

My M4 has a little over 500 miles right now, but thanks for confirming that there might be such a ting as a transport rev limiter.

Seriously though, get it checked out. I tracked mine with about 800 miles on it and had no problems going well over 5k rpms.

Are you talking about the shift lights by any chance? If I am pushing it, the yellow lights come on around the tach. But the RPMs can keep on climbing.

Maybe it is the shifting lights, but RPM does not climb.

Bizarre. Not only did my M3 not have a rev limiter, it did not seem to have the 150 mph speed limiter either. Blinking yellows for shift warning yes.
