at 1200 miles..Now what?

So I just hit 1200 miles! I scheduled a service appointment for tomorrow so can I go past 5500 RPM now or do I need to wait until after my service is done? I'm so excited to finally be able to see what this car can do!

For realz? I hit 8,400 RPM with 2 miles on my e92 odometer. Then drove straight to EAS and set the dyno record for an e92 M3. Then slapped a supercharger on it with 800 miles and made 583 RWHP.

So you never had a warranty? Cool! Unfortunately, I wouldn't feel comfortable without a warranty but obviously there are plenty of people around here that do.

NO NO NO! Read this.

As stated in the operating manual.

Break-In Period
As with any other current or late M model, break-in period is 2,000 km or 1,200 miles. During that time, maximum engine speed should not exceed 5,500 RPM, maximum speed is 170 kph (105 mph). Also, full-throttle and kickdown shall be avoided up until 1,200 miles.

Between 2,000 and 5,000 km (1,200 and 3,100 miles), engine RPM can be slowly increased but speed should not exceed 220 kph (137 mph) for a longer period of time.
