Saving on labour, what can i do at the same time ?

Hey guys have done a bit of searching and have a rough idea but wondering if anyone can answer a few questions i have.

My oil filter housing gasket is leaking, as well as my valve cover gasket (i found oil in a plug well when doing my plugs) Im also looking to have my valves cleaned at the same time.

Im aware that the OFHG and the valves are a good idea to do together so ill save a bit on labour there, should i also expect to save a decent amount of labour on the VCG at the same time ? Can anyone shed any light on exactly how much time i could expect this to shave off the job ? killing all three with one stone so to speak.

Also getting my castor bushes replaced and front pads, going to be an expensive vist i think so wanting to not go in blind here and have some idea what to expect time wise for labour.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same issue as you about a week ago. Replacing the oil filter housing gasket takes some skill because you need to pull a lot of parts out to get in there. Also, you'll be surprised how much oil had actually leaked. Pete @ Advan had it cleaned out for me and all up it was $300.

I guess there are a few DIYs but they're assuming you're confident working on your car.

Im on the gold coast so no real advan equivalent up here, I've found an indy I like and a few I dont.

I think ill pull apart the cowel and all the rest on top to save them some time too.

Yeah I wont be diying these jobs, I dont mind installing a jb or doing plugs and coils ect but ill leave these kind of jobs to the mechanics.

You can replace the oil filter housing gasket + oil cooler gasket at home. Even I managed to do it.

The hardest part was replacing the coolant hoses I found were broken when disassembling everything.
