335i coil packs's and engine oil.

Hi guys,

Looking to replace my coilpacks and spark plugs before I install a jb4 for preventative maintenece. Has anyone found competitive pricing in Australia for bosch coilpacks? What spark plugs is everyone using?

Also will be changing my oil inbeetween the bmw schedules service intervals and wondering what everyone reccomends to use.

Thanks.

I believe Fossil here on this forum picked up a pack of 6 for less than $200 but yeah, ADVAN also sell 'em for $60 each which isn't too bad either.

As mentioned fossil found some crazy cheap bosch coils (these are the oem supplier - and are the same as the bmw branded coils)

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-x-Zunds...a38bfb3&_uhb=1

As for motor oil either 5W30 or 0W40 LL01 spec oil such as castrol edge mobil 1 nulon etc

Since you're in sydney maybe buy through these guys

http://www.gllubricants.com/index.ph...&product_id=80

There are a multitude of bmw LL01 spec oils out there (fuchs, valvoline, shell helix, total, repsol, liqui moly - castrol is the bmw lubricant partner but basically any of these oils will be fine the key is to change every 7500 kms!)

As for filters, you can buy the mann filters (they're the bmw suppliers - the bmw filters are rebranded mann filters)

Or as mentioned drop your car off and have the experts at advan do it all for you:

http://www.advanperformanceeuro.com.au/

(advan is where most of us guys go who're located in Sydney, as Pete runs a great workshop, know his stuff and are still much cheaper and more knowledgeable than the bmw dealerships!)

What is the specific coils needed for N54?
Have to buy new coils and sparks but don't want to end up buying the wrong ones. that would be a complete fail

Might as well get a full set of coils - if they're not bad before you replace them, then at least you've got spares if you need to swap one in when diagnosing bad coils.
