Do you need 1200 miles for break in service?
Can I bring my new M3 in for the break in service at 900-1000 miles instead of the recommended 1200 miles?
I am planning a long trip and may not be up to 1200 miles before I leave.

I had 1008 miles at drop off in Europe and when I took re-delivery the 1200 mile service was completed.

Was it done at VPC or by dealer? (he says wondering if that is holding up delivery...)

I will be around 1600 miles next Monday my scheduled service date, i ask my SA if it wouldn't be a problem since it's suppose to be 1200 miles and he said no it was ok, it's this true or it has to be done at 1200 miles? Thanks

I would suggest calling and making sure they have the replaceable drain plug's. Just brought mine in for the 1200 mile service today, having a feeling they would not have them. I was correct, they did not have the one for the oil pan. The crappy part is I was told last week they had them. But the technician confirmed, after I drove 45 miles one way, that they did not have them. Hopefully have them in by tomorrow.

What parts must be replaced under the first 1200 break in service?

I was told if the service was not done before 1600mi then BMW would not CPO the car in the future. Not your problem but could hurt more on a trade in the future, I am assuming.

I had my break in service done at 1500 miles at Schomp BMW in CO on my cross country drive back to CA from PCD. I emailed the Service Manager and scheduled the service. He said no problem and had all the required parts ready.

My understanding is that there is a "KIT" that comes with the appropriate plugs for your particular optioned vehicle.
