Help with rim/tire size

Hi!

I picked up some used M3 rep rims that I would like to use as winters on my MY2015 F30 Xdrive.

Each of the four rims have "207 18X8 1/2" stamped in them.
Each of the four rims have "ET 35" stamped in them.

The tires they came with, however, are staggered 275/35r18 Rears and 245/40r18 Fronts. (I used a calculator to see that these sizes matched circumferences) The tire widths are 10.8 and 9.65 inches respectively.

I assume, for winter, I can run these with a square setup. What width would work best suit these rims that are 216mm (8.5")?? Could I run 225/45 r18?

Am I missing something?

Jimmer.

wow, the 275 would have been super stretched I would think on those rim, do you have pics of what that looked like?

I think you have it right though, 225-45-18 would fit those wheels.

Yes 225/45R18 on you 18x8.5" ET35 wheels will work well. 225/45R18 is the stock tire size for the fronts in the staggared sets for F3x models.

I'll be running the same tire size on 18x8" ET32.

8.5 you can run comfortably 245/40/18. But I don't know what that guy was thinking trying to fit 275 on an 8.5 rim. Thats an accident waiting to happen. Coming from me, you don't want to mess with rim and tire widths that don't jive normally, I've blown up two tires on the highway during my driving career. Like literally disintegrated one with fire and smoke once, not fun.
