Powder Coated vs. Painted

I'm quite new to all of this stuff... are powder coated wheel finishes more durable than painted wheel finishes? Thinking about winter.

Yes... powder coated wheels are generally more durable.

Also, I'd suggest making sure you go to a PC shop that's well-versed in working with wheels. It doesn't happen often, but I've seen nightmare-ish incidences where the powder coater didn't use appropriate times/temperatures resulting in compromised structural integrity

I was told today that if the wheel is powder coated in a gloss it is generally more durable; but if it is coated in matte or texture, it is basically the same as a painted wheel.

Any truth there?
