Unlocking via remote app doesn't work!
Just pickup my MW/SO M4 yesterday. The SA setup the BMW remote app for me, however, I can only find flashlight/horn and can't find any other features. My SA told me that the unlocking feature had been removed by BMW couple months ago. Can anyone who use the remote app confirm that?

It worked on a previous version. It doesn't work anymore.
Most likely someone was playing with the app and unlocked the doors, then someone stole something from their car. Then the owner who's stuff went missing blamed BMW and said that they didn't do a remote unlock. Now they get your voice recorded on the phone requesting it. Don't blame BMW, blame irresponsible users of the app that don't except responsibility for their own actions. |

With the euro version of the App you can even start the car. If you wish we had the same stuff here as they have there, credit the lawyers for not allowing this to happen.

You now won't be able to unlock it from your phone due to safety issues. You now how to call in and provide a passcode to unlock your car. This is what the rep told me over the phone.

there has to be a way to trick your phone into thinking you are in the UK in order to download that app...
Euro app even turns on the vents if i remember right |

Its true. i have 2013 135is, 335i, and x5 and they used to be able to control lock and unlock. They removed it because people would loose their phones and the person who finds it would then unlock the car and take off. That was what I was told when i called in. My M4 is in production so i can't try it yet. lol.
