Bmw 325I Spark Plugs + Coils
hey Guys,
Can someone direct me to a reliable source to purchase these parts? I am confident to do a DIY, just need some support in which parts i should be buying. Obviously BMW have quoted me $300 to change the spark plugs which i think i can do myself for a cheaper price. What iridium plugs do you recommend? and where can i source the coils? Thanks |

Owners manual should tell you what spark plug you need in the specifications section, then buy them on ebay

I was looking into this not too long ago:
oem bosch coils $25ea + $40 postage for the set http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/380812967...84.m1423.l2649 spark plugs - follow whats in the manual for part number. if i remember correctly, pricing is not too bad comparing local/overseas sources. |

A common replacement is NGK 5992 platinum iridium spark plugs.
They have a single grounding probe, which allows you to gap them. It is recommended to gap them from 0.022" to 0.025". They come out of the box with a much larger gap which will not work at all in the BMW. Edit: Sorry I just read you have a 325i. Just get the OEM bosch plugs - there's no point getting gappable plugs if you're not modding boost or performance. |

Is it worth changing the plugs and coils when your N52 hits a certain number of kms? Or only when you start noticing the typical signs?

I wouldn't bother changing them unless you have rough idle or check engine light. The reason it is often recommended to replace them is with a tune on the 335's, it is common to get limp mode if the spark plugs or coils are old. I had limp modes on my 335 when standard, until I changed spark plugs and coils. Without boost on the 325, I'd expect it'd be much less of a problem. |

get em for about 35$ each delivered a pop (amazon sometimes has some good deals for bosch coils).
Will take you only 30 mins to replace them all if you know how to get the engine cover off. |
