Snap, Crackle, Pop from stock HiFi stereo w/Bluetooth connection
It seems that when I connect my iPhone via Bluetooth, at certain high frequencies in songs, the speakers will reproduce a very brief crackle/popping sound. It's not constant, and I can get it to reproduce on certain songs only.
My question is, does anyone know if this is a symptom of bad factory speakers? Or is this likely an amplifier/head unit issue? The reason I ask is that I plan to upgrade the speakers anyway, but I wouldn't want to mess with anything if the warranty gets involved.... thoughts anyone? |

I didn't have any issues with the stock system over BT. Try the same songs with another phone to see if it happens. Could be your phone's BT and the car not being buddies. My 3 year old Windows Phone that played fine with my 335is didn't play at all in the M235i. I had to use my girlfriend's M8 mini over BT.
The stock stereo is not bad. I have the HK in my 335is and I wasn't in agony over it. The speakers are exactly the same, you just get tweeters and a bit more power with the HK option. But maybe Kia has awesome stereos in their cars. |

Same here in my 435i with HK. It's repeatable with certain songs primarily via bluetooth, although I've heard it via AUX and a CD as well. It's a faint crackle, almost sounding like distortion at certain frequencies, although it's not volume dependent.

Blue tooth Audio is so inferior to start with. I am glad to have the hard drive to store music. The wife is getting me 2 pairs of Focals for Christmas to replace the door speaker and back deck speakers. I am sure that will make it sound much better. I don't need louder (although the rear speakers can only manage to whisper), I just want better sound quality. $300 worth of good speakers should do the trick

Exactly! It almost sounds like a tiny pebble hits the windshield.

I still have this happening on the 228. It happens on HD radio too (on the techno station) and through my bluetooth songs.
Going to the dealership Fri for something separate, wonder if its worth even mentioning this? |

H&K system here and i hear the same at times. Very annoying. Sounds like a loose connection somewhere almost because i notices its coming from more than 1 speaker the same way so its not just a bad speaker.
