In for vid, considering doing it, unsure because feel like a fgt if it sounds to rice. Only thing that has me interested is the seemingly 50/50 of supporters who say it sounds amazing at wot and under accel...

when installing my bmw pe, i hacked off the oem mufflers and went & took my car for a blap. It was crazy loud and droned like a mofo!

My car has AR catless DP's, but there is no way I could put up with a muffler delete. Also strangely the car felt lethargic at low revs (below 3k RPM) and hills which i could take in 4th gear required shifting down to 3rd gear as the car was bogging down...

it's got a low and rumbly tone under about 4k rpm, so for normal driving. it's pretty loud, but I was used to it from previous cars so didn't really matter to me, and I'm 21y/o so I guess I can put up with it, don't know if I could if I was older haha, also, I live in an apartment and set off car alarms whenever I cold start, always the Porsches that go off for some reason :/

When you're giving it full throttle, it'll rasp a little around 4-5k rpm (I have catless DP). IMO best 150$ I've spent haha.

thats a quick video of mine just revving

this is under load, not all the way up the rev range tho

hahaha yeah man, just do it! makes it that little bit more fun to drive as well haha
the Cayenne and Panamerra owners probably hate me though LOL I've also found VW alarms quite easy to set off in parking lots

also, just have a look around and call a few places, it shouldn't cost more than 200$ IMO if you're also taking your own tips to the guy. Just make sure he gets the tips aligned straight and tell him how much you want them to stick out. Mine are angle cut, so if you look from the top i have it sticking out about 0.5cm and 4" outlet fills the stock diffuser just nice

One more thing, the noise level is pretty insane in those vids, quality is amazing. Is it so loud your turning every single head at the intersection when you take off with some purpose ? I kind if enjoy being able to give a boot atm without alerting every cop in a 1k radius that i am doing so...

MORE IMPORTANTLY

KID INK.

Huge fan, from well and truly before he was famous, the man.

well, I've gotten kind of used to it, but it does turn head when I want it to, like downshifting and applying about 5% throttle will give you INSANE crackling and popping and just all round JIZZ worthy sounds out the back of the car

I notice you have catless dps, i dont have dps yet so hopefully the sound isnt too different... because i like the way yours sounds.

Got a quote today for 160 for the delete, booked in for monday. Both shops i went to suggested a ballast pipe from one pipe to the other where the mufflers used to be to combat drone. This isnt something iv heard thrown around these forums before, wondering if anyone can shed any light ?

I think they are referring to "x" pipes which is pretty common when doing muffler/resonator deletes.

google x pipes and you'll see alot of examples

Apparently it balances out the exhaust flow so less drone etc

Can confirm that I was charged $150 thereabouts to cut out a mid muffler and weld on a new pipe.

This was on a evo though not bmw but should be same same.

Have used mettams belmont & morley and they both do good work.
