bmw 325d hybrid and injectors

so after removing the DPF and cat my next project I'm thinking is maybe 330d or 335d injectors and hybrid turbo

i have spoken to paul at rs tuning and he said this would be a good upgrade.
after removing the DPF and cat he mapped the car which produced 285bhp but smoked too much to he turned it down to 274bhp and more or less smoke free whilst he was at it he coded out the egr

has anyone got a hybrid ?

If you've been to see Paul; I'm guessing you're somewhere near Leeds.

AET Turbos in Normanton have a great rep. Have a look at their site.

I have a 330d with no Dpf or swirl flaps, it made 274hp and 470 ft ibs of torque so I can't imagine what that e46 must be like! I want meth and a hybrid next then I might be happy

Sound pal where did you get it mapped would have thought you would have for 300bhp out of the 330d? Especially with no dpf?

I only have the 325d and I got 274bhp could have ran it at 285 but smoked toouch with no dpf so Paul said to keep it at 274 you have bigger injectors aswell

Anyone local to Leeds?

It probably could get more hp but I think the torque is better than most I have seen? Not sure though, even if my car smoked when floored I would live with that so it could have been pushed more easy! I had it mapped at shark performance in Mansfield north Nottingham.

Since having it mapped I have fitted a Wagner intercooler and removed the egr, it defiantly pulls better higher up, before it felt like it lagged if that makes sense

cool mate sounds good i had it mapped before dpf removed then my pdf failed so took it out and mapped it again within 2months and coded out the egr and wow what a difference it drives like a total different car and you can't half hear the turbo through the exhaust now haha

how do you find the upgraded intercooler?

I bought mine from bmw and within 2 months I took the Dpf off and gutted it! Then got it mapped, my next mod due to it being cheap is the exhaust. Going to remove the silencers or make it bigger diameter, it's loud but I Want louder!

The intercooler was at first a dissapiontment, but then after a few miles was done I noticed it was pulling better from about 3500 to 4000. It felt like the stock intercooler was restricting the flow! Since the intercooler was fitted I have not had it dyno'd so can't see the results on paper.

Injectors will be a straight swap won't they?
Are the 330d the same ones as the 335d?

the injector style changed between the M57 and N57 engines. so you need to make sure you are buying injectors for the right engine.

if you have an M57 and want upgraded injectors, you should be looking at early 535D injectors, Bosch part number 0445110219. These are the same injectors that Alpina used when extracting extra power out of the 320D for their D3 model. (320D and 330D use the same injectors as standard, bosch part number 0445110216)

as for Hybrid turbos, i would advise against it. find out what turbo your car has, find out the compressor and turbine wheel, then compare it with another off the shelf turbo. you may well find a 530D or newer 330D has the same turbo with slightly larger wheels.
