Marin mount vision pro mountain bike for sale

Hi i have for sale a 2006 marin mount vision pro 19" frame mountain bike it cost £3300 in early 06 i have used it maybe 4 times it suited ideally for somebody around 5ft9" to 6ft3".

The bike is equipped with shimano XTR every thing gears disc brakes wheels carbon fibre seat post and handle bars .This mb is really a high end piece of kit ,i thought id use it but a change in job etc has left it surplus to requirement ,if any one wants some pics sent to them i will attempt to mail them .But when i have tried to load pics on here before it keeps saying file size to large WTF any way if any one would like to make me a offer please do thanks in advance

very trick

I tried to buy one here in the uk but they had sold out so i purchased it from usa in kit form and then had a local specialist bike shop set it all up it rides fantastic .

My wife bought a dog at the same time and every time i have a spare moment and go out he comes with me ie for a walk ,i just cant ride this monster and give my dog full attention ,he is a beagle and is a sent dog and dissapears after every smell fox rabbit badger etc he requires 100% attention or would disapear and my life would not be worth living he is my wifes baby.

cannondale nice bikes ,i have always bought marin i dont know why

Jeez that looks like its never been ridden in anger

...the very first time I used mine the mud/grim/grit wore 'R' the XTR of marking off the crank. The bike colour was indistinguishable as well ....

Wish you luck with the sale but MTB'r are often a bit fickle when it comes to last years or the year befores model when buying used.

That's a tasty bike Scooba but too big for me too, and the Miswah would go mental if I bought a 3rd bike to add to my Cannondale hardtail and Specialized Stumpy FSR. Shame you can't get out on it more as MTBing is superb - I love it and have been doing it for about 15 years. Love the XTR wheels - very uncommon on this side of the pond.

You're quite right though, dogs and bikes don't mix, so a very responsible attitude. Good luck with the sale

Great bike - if only I had some dosh

I have a Klein Mantra - not used it in years though. A new bike might get me in the mood again

Now's the time to get seriously good deals on 2007 models (often the only difference is the paint job).

Hi

If i only get offers like that it will have to stay in my garage i was hoping i could get more than that but keep offering guys .there is a mount vision on ebay for £1100 that is half the new price . My bike is the pro version with some trick extras like the xtr rims and complete xtr group set . if i could get half my money back i would let it go .I proberbly could break the bike and do very well as xtr group sets are £1k alone then sell the wheels and frame bars etc seperate common guys make me some big offers

Scooba, the problem you have is that the 2007 Marin full sussers (Mount Visions, Rift Zones, East Peaks etc) are selling from main dealers for between 25-40% off. And these are new, unused bikes, but already for 2008 Marin have made crucial amends to the (new in 2007) frame design, as it was criticised over a few issues. Your bike, lovely though it is, is a 2006 model, and is a completely different model. It's like an E46, whereas the 2008 model is a facelifted E90, if that makes sense in BMW terms. IMO someone looking to spend half the MRP of your bike wil think "well I can get a 2007 (ie new design) Mount Vision for that now". That's going to be the problem. So, superb though it is, you'll be very lucky to get 50% of the purchase price IMHO (assuming you're talking the UK MRP).

Wrt the groupset, XTR has been revised since then, and, MTBers being fickle in my experience, you won't get what you want for that either, as everyone wants the Emperor's New Clothes!!

But hey you may be lucky - hope so, I just wanted you to be aware of what I thought could be the issue. If it were me I'd keep it. I nearly sold my (only bike at the time) Cannondale when we had our dog, and then when we had our baby, as I couldn't see me ever using it for years. However, 18 months on, a lot has changed (not least we no longer have the dog - a diferent story) and I now have 2 bikes and try to get out every Sunday with mates for a ride. And that's with me only being at home at the weekend.

Whatever you do, all the best

Hi Bumps

I would sell it for £1500 but otherwise i will keep it and hope i do find time to use it ,one thing is for sure i wont give it away .seams weird id just keep it for the sake of it who knows i may get time to use it thanks for the advise

Ps do you know where i can buy a marin mount vision pro with the discounts you mentioned because from my limited understanding of the marin dealers they have a no discount policy ,have things changed ? because i would buy my 13 yr old a nice bike and maybe we could go and keep fit and chill together in the summer evenings to get him of his sony ps3 .

Scooba, try www.leisurelakesbikes.com, www.evanscycles.com, www.rutlandcycling.co.uk, www.leisurewheels.co.uk and the other usual suspects on the net. Can't guarantee the figures you will get but there are some good discounts on 2007 models. Good idea to go cycling with friends/family - makes it more fun and you feel more obliged to get out when you might otherwise sit on yer arse (especially in winter!!!)
