Alpine Upgrade + Logic 7 Subwoofers
Okay so I've finally decided to upgrade my sound from the standard base stereo in my car. Hoping to go with the Alpine Kit with some Logic 7 subwoofers.
Alpine Kit is easy to source, if i'm right I believe there are 2 kits, one for cars built before 03/2009 and on for car built after. But can someone tell me if any logic 7 subs will fit or do they have to be pre-lci? and are they plug and play to switch over? Sure I read somewhere before that some of the subs have pin connectors and others don't, struggling to find more info on them |

I've just done this upgrade and it's great!
From what I read, pre-LCI cars can keep there original sub enclosures and you can just swap out the actual subs. If you have an LCI car you need the sub with enclosure as the newer ones are glued and can't be separated. This was for e92/e93 |

Yep I installed it myself. The later Alpine kit is plug and play though. Did it over a weekend. Are you going to try it yourself?

I bought the later alpine kit with the plug and play connectors by mistake and my car is a pre lci so have to cut the connectors off, don't think its a big deal to do but haven't done it yet. Also if you do it yourself, be sure to route the cables the shortest way possible as mine werent long enough the first time I tried😠(thanks to Sam for the heads up)!

You can reuse the woofers enclosure on LCI no problem, they are glued alright, but taking them off is not too bad with a big knife/flat screwdriver.
As for Alpine amplifier and Logic7 speakers, they are quiet poor. |
