Where can I get a good car wash in San Diego?
I don't trust anyone not with swirl marks, etc. Shell does a terrible job so I am trying to find somewhere better. I don't have time to do it myself although I would love to. Any ideas?

your driveway!
: ) Just kidding, I live in San Diego and same as you, I have not found anyone that does as careful of a job as I do on my driveway. Not even the dealers. I really doubt anyone will do it as well as you but if someone here knows a place, then I also would love to know. I start a couple of hours before sundown so the car is cool. I start cleaning the wheels first. By the time I finish the sun is low and the sheetmetal cool. I wash and start drying. I roll into garage under flourescents and do first drying. Then I take out compressor and blow out water from cracks and crevices. Finish second drying. Then open all the doors and dry door jambs, under hood and trunk areas. Then I vacuum and if it needs it, clean glass with cleaner. I keep a TV in garage for company. As you said, it takes a lot of time. Bump for an interesting question. Any really good, thorough car washes in San Diego? |

I go to the touch less car wash at chevron at balboa and mercury st (near 163) because there are no guides on the floor of the wash to damage wheels or front bumper.
It is fine for getting dust off the car and doing the initial wash when the car is really dirty. I finish off in my garage with optimum no rinse. |
