Cold weather and frozen window
It has rained all day yesterday here in central Illinois, and it started snowing this morning and it has been going on since;
With the window lowering function (where the window slightly lowers when the door is opened) disabled due to frozen window, my door won't close all the way. I'm just waiting for my window to thaw, and hopefully it'll close then. Do you guys think this will be a recurring issue? I think I'll be pretty upset to find my door not closing on my way do work. Any solutions? |

Just run / slide a credit card etc along the outside window channel and it will drop down as normal had the same issue with last BMW and Audi its the joy of frameless doors.

I would try putting on the 1Z Gummi Pflege. It protects rubber against freezing and summer sun damage.

Hey Stilldae, I am in Central Illinois also. The rain yesterday and snow today have not been fun. Although it did give me a chance to test out my snow tires for the first time since Bloomington has not really cleared all the roads.

Haven't had the need to try this myself yet, but I've heard a trick is to use silicon spray. Spray some on a cloth and wipe it on the rubber parts that meet the window and you won't get frozen out again.
In the video he sprays it directly on the rubber, but most people suggest to spray the cloth first then wipe it on the rubber parts to avoid overspray and it getting on the paint. |

I've had this problem when the weather goes from raining to freezing temperatures. This is actually pretty common in Rhode Island where I'm from.
The credit credit card trick works pretty well...also the defroster will get the window back working in about 10 minutes I've noticed. |
