Never understood spending $80,000 on a car and then being cheap on the wheels, especially at a track. I'm not saying you need TE37 or FI for track wheels, but APEX wheels are pretty much the standard everyone measures against since they're JWL/VIA certified and reasonable priced, but no $1,000 cheap.
But that's just me. .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Wheels/tires is something you cant cheap out on. What happens when your cheap track wheel breaks at the track and ruins your car. Then you will really have some other expenses in life.

For $1000 look for some used wheels. I bought a set of 18"x9 ARC-8s for this exact amount for my E36.
IIRC ARC-8s don't fit on the F8X because of the flat face not clearing the calipers. You'll have to look for EC-7 which are little tougher to come by. I'm at about $1400+shipping for a brand new set of EC-7 19" from APEX for my M4. If you wait for the specials you should be able to get an 18" set new for close to $1200 I would think. Nothing wrong with trying to save a few bucks as long as you are safe. If you track a lot like I do you got to watch the expenses.

These might work since they're the concave version? Price is right.

I got a set of Apex EC7s I used 3 weekends at VIR I'd sell to you. Send me PM if you're interested.
It's silver Apex EC7 ET25 18x10. I ran 275/35R18 square setup on the track. Original price was $1316 ($329 each) $700 + $150 shipping and they are yours.
