No BMWCCA rebate :(

For those in the US, I just noticed that BMWNA has specifically excluded '15 X5M and X6M from the $1000 rebate BMWCCA members would otherwise qualify for

I checked with BMWCCA and it isn't an omission on their part, it was "specifically excluded from the program by BMWNA"

Yep. It was. And I'm pretty upset by it. There's nothing rare about these cars.

Simply - "because they can". I'd imagine the argument is that people who are wanting to be first to own a $100,000+ car "don't care" about the extra $1k rebate, and would buy anyway (which is, to some extent, true).

However, I only pay my BMWCCA membership for that rebate, so feel a little misled at the very least

I'd bet that the rebate is restored after a few months once supply catches up with demand.

I'd also bet that the US market is one of BMW's least profitable for these cars (have you seen what the X5M/X6M cost in the UK, for example?!) so they're wanting to stoke crazed demand in high margin places first (China? Russia?).

I agree, the main benefit of my BMW CCA membership is for the rebate, so I feel misled also. I was told by BMW CCA that BMW NA included the 2014 X5M in the rebate program but chose not to include the 2015 at this time. I'm very disappointed.

It's disappointing. I'm involved in my local chapter and love the magazine, so I don't mind paying the dues. However the rebate is one of the biggest perks and that these cars are specifically excluded doesn't make sense to me.

I got my $1000 rebate on the 2013 X5M.
There was no 2014 model as the 2013 was the last year of production.

This is unfortunate that there is no rebate on the 2015 as I do belong to the BMW CCA for the same rebate reason. Certainly not a deal breaker if I want to buy it, but now with the next gen M5 potentially having an AWD version, I may be looking at that.

So was this brought back, I believe on the website it states all X5 models but I could be wrong. I expire in a month and won't renew if I can't use it on my X5M lease.

Don't they usually refer to f85/f86 as M cars rather than X cars? Could be some sneaky lawyer speak there.

There is a rebate. If the X5 M were excluded, it would say so. It said no rebate when I ordered last year, and it specifically called the X5 M out as not available. They, thankfully, changed that right before I took delivery.

It's back for the 2016 X5M. Mine is pending. Not sure why it was excluded for a period of time.

Good to hear - so upset I missed my M5 rebate by one month because it was based on when I took delivery in Germany for ED. I am definitely getting it this time!

I just got my check for my 2016 F85. It didn't take long at all. I had to cancel/withdraw my wife's M4 conv since it only had 500 and the X5 is 1000.

Nice, ordered the X5M Saturday so will be doing this. Do you only get one rebate per year?

Yes I got my check for $1000 from BMW NA for my 2016 X5M. I suspect they eliminated the 2015 because of already huge incentives to dealers.

Or maybe because it was brand new at the time?

Possibly. I just know the 2016 was on the list, I filled out the info, scanned it and emailed, got a quick reply that it was complete and 4 weeks later got a check from BMW NA. Not sure what happened to 2015 but virtually all M models made the list.

If you have a spouse, and you add them as an associate member to your primary BMWCCA membership, then you can get two rebates a year. My husband and I purchase our cars together, with both our names on the financials and registration. He is an associate on my primary BMWCCA membership. This past year (2015), we put the rebate for the X5 M in under my membership, and we put the i3 we got in December under his associate membership. We received both rebates, without any issue at all. This year, we will submit the M4 rebate under my membership.

Yes. This works but I think the Associate member has to be there for a year to count.

Yes, you are correct. To be eligible for a rebate, any member, associate, or other, needs to be an active member for one year.

The 2015 X5M was included in the rebate program, but not at first. I got my X5M in April 2015, submitted my paperwork, and received my rebate within four weeks. Thanks BMW CCA!
