2013+ ECU flashing
Any COBB representatives around?
Many tuners are now able to flash 2013+ DMEs but have to use a benchflash as the security takes up to 15 hours to flash from ODB port. Some Euro companies are coming out with ODB port access (supposed to be released 1/5/15) and so I am wondering if there are any advancements domestically other than Dinan (And even Dinan seems to be now going with a more piggyback approach). I have to imagine that Cobb can eventually pick up on these methods to apply to their AP http://www.br-performance.be/en-be/ http://flashtec.ch/ http://www.jailbreaktuning.com/ Just to name a few... |

Cobb is notoriously slow to adapt things. I would just go with one of the other options if possible.

Updates continue to flow from EU.
Also learned that AMS out of chicago is able to do the bench flash as well. ODB access has been proven. As of late, still requires the board to be unlocked first via benchflash but can access ODB for updates, tune changes, etc. instead of pulling the board everytime for this! Quote:

Had a call with BR Performance this morning. The OBD flash equipment should arrive next week. They will test it on one of their shop cars to make sure its properly working. If that turns out to be the case I could go in as early as Monday Jan 26th.

I am in Cincinnati and am EXTREMELY interested in what AMS has to offer. Just a few hours away from me. I will contact them soon, and if it is true the OBD can be used for tuning after the fact that is incredible. This would be the true dawn of the N55 performance era.

I agree, especially for the newer years/models.
These guys really take a lot of R&D into their tunes too! Curious to learn the cost. and hopefully it is within a reasonable amount. Lots has been done before this all went public recently! |
