2013+ ECU flashing

Any COBB representatives around?

Many tuners are now able to flash 2013+ DMEs but have to use a benchflash as the security takes up to 15 hours to flash from ODB port. Some Euro companies are coming out with ODB port access (supposed to be released 1/5/15) and so I am wondering if there are any advancements domestically other than Dinan (And even Dinan seems to be now going with a more piggyback approach).

I have to imagine that Cobb can eventually pick up on these methods to apply to their AP

Just to name a few...

Cobb is notoriously slow to adapt things. I would just go with one of the other options if possible.

They get the bugs sorted out? Assume you are getting the stage 2 and stacking jb4, right?

Updates continue to flow from EU.

Also learned that AMS out of chicago is able to do the bench flash as well.

ODB access has been proven. As of late, still requires the board to be unlocked first via benchflash but can access ODB for updates, tune changes, etc. instead of pulling the board everytime for this!

It's a know german tuner (not one of best, but known ) and he writes on FB:

Guys, finally!
Starting today we are able to flash the BMW M4 and a lot of other F-Series models directly via OBD.
Sounds good to me . As far as I know (and I'm quite sure) he doesn't develop his own tunes so this should account for every tuner worldwide (or at least every german tuner :P)

Going to give it some time to see what it comes to between now and spring. May not be a bad idea to go down there for a weekend!

That's awesome that they are keeping their customers informed and updated. I'm wondering how nice jb will be stacking it with these new tunes vs using Terrys backend flash.

Looking to you DARK for more findings regarding this

Had a call with BR Performance this morning. The OBD flash equipment should arrive next week. They will test it on one of their shop cars to make sure its properly working. If that turns out to be the case I could go in as early as Monday Jan 26th.

I am in Cincinnati and am EXTREMELY interested in what AMS has to offer. Just a few hours away from me. I will contact them soon, and if it is true the OBD can be used for tuning after the fact that is incredible. This would be the true dawn of the N55 performance era.

Hmm..if I'm all the way out on California..is there a way I can get this flash? I don't want JB4 product on my car I would much rather have a reflash like Cobb. But they don't support my 2013 E92 DME

Jailbreak is on the west coast. I believe that is who PURE is testing with on the new m4.

Else you could always take it out and send, not a crazy diy...

Thanks for the update Dark!

PARA, They are fairly close to us as well

I agree, especially for the newer years/models.

These guys really take a lot of R&D into their tunes too!

Curious to learn the cost. and hopefully it is within a reasonable amount. Lots has been done before this all went public recently!
