My first question is: Do I have bluetooth in my car? If not, how hard/how costly would it be to get it installed. I would like to do hands free calls. Music would be great two, but it isn't necessary as I have an aux in my center console.

What would my options be?

PS. While your at it, if anyone could tell me what kind of speaker system (not sure what "hifi" means) I have, I would really appreciate it.

In 07 only bluetooth phone was available .
I can't tell from the info right off the bat if you have it.
If you press the menu on your radio it there should be a phone
icon coming up along with radio and cd.
There should be a separate small bluetooth manual with a phone
booth on the front telling you how to use and pair it.

BMW didn;t have streaming bluetooth music till around 2010
they are generally behind on the entertainment electronics.

If you really want bluetooth streaming there are some aftermarket devices that will add it such as the Dension gateway 500s Bt.
The aux input not a good way to get quality sound into the radio .

Preperation only means the wiring is in place.

All US cars 09 and before had this for options.
They stopped doing it in 2010.

Look in the trunk their should be a BT module

It is option SA639, BMW Assist. You don't have it.

You can retrofit your car as if it had come from factory but it may be cost prohibitive:

Im still mad that my car doesn't come with bluetooth.
