09 e90 oem battery install issue?

Removed battery to charge off car, reinstalled and noticed two small 2-3 pin wires from the positive terminal are disconnected. Car gets power but nothing happens when key is put it ignition. Any clue if the two wires would cause no start or if programming is needed after recharging the batt?

Thanks

Programming is only needed if you change the type of battery (AGM vs FLA) and/or AH rating (110, 90, 80, 70)... You did neither of these. Depending on how the battery was charged... It might have failed? There should be one disconnected cable which is used as a transport cable as the car is being shipped from Germany to the USA. It will not have anything to connect to.

Just double check all your work to be honest, its probably something you over looked.

FWIW - if you made the effort to remove the battery, instead of putting back in a 6yr old battery... It would have been better to just replace it with a new battery from AAP. If your near someone with a coding cable they car code or register a new battery for u in seconds.

It's not neccessary to remove the battery to charge

It's not necessary to remove the battery to charge it.
There are charging terminals under the hood.
If the battery is 6 years old that's about as far as they
go on these cars.
You need to be sure you hooked everything up exactly the
same as all of the ports on top of the battery distribution block
are not necessarily active.
No programming necessary after power down.

There is one small connector that is for shipping and does not get
hooked up for normal operation.

Thanks for the responses so far guys. To clarify, two cables are disconnected (will upload picture tomorrow). Pretty sure the battery is put together properly, interior lights are on etc.

Any other thoughts on the install?

Thanks!
