My water pump lasted till 89k miles (143,000 km). And even then, it was actually the thermostat housing that cracked. I just replaced the water pump because it was there...

This makes me nervous...just had mine changed because it was starting to throw codes and wanted to take care of it before the motor overheated and/or left me stranded. The new pump is way noisier than the old one, and now folks are reporting premature failures replacements. Great. And I have a 1500 mile road trip coming up.

I don't go on road trips due to fear of my WP failing. It's nice to have a bmw ain't it

Bwahaha, I feel the same way... mine is at 126K, still on original WP/TS/etc. Though, just recent the coolant vent hose broke apart and sprayed coolant out. Thankfully it was an easy DIY fix, along w/ the upper radiator hose. What a nightmare though...other than that, trouble-free here.

I go on "road trips" almost every day. No fear here. 40-45k miles per year.

I have 95k miles on my 335i but my most current work location is only 2miles away from my house. I've been letting the car warm up for about 15mins in the mornings, do you guys think this helps at all?

Damn, wish those with lots of mile on their WP could put my mind at ease, changed mine 6 months ago and now it's leaking, hairline crack. Have a temp fix (jb weld) until it gets warmer so I can DIY it. Good thing the parts are covered under Warranty.

Who knows..., Bosch water pumps could just have constant QC manufacturing issues, some pumps have good parts some have bad!
