JB4 M4 Track Day - 11.50@122mph and 11.6@126mph

Ok so i went to the track today....it was Super Street Car Drag event and i got a ton of passes...

My Car has KNN drop in filter, Jb4 Map, and i added 1/2 tank of race gas ... it was 50/50 93 oct/100 oct ...i accidently filled up the night before and i managed to use up 1/2 the tank and filled the other half(6.5 gallons) with 100 octain race gas....

Looks like i'm second on Drag times for Fseries M3/M4
http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M4-Timeslip-27178.html
http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW--M4-Drag-Racing.html

Without race gas i ran 11.7 on map 2 ... with race gas i ran 11.5 with top MPH of 126 on Map 6 & 7 .

Check out the Attatched Time Slips... road test tv should have videos of the runs uploaded later.... for now check out this video of me vs SRT8 charger Stock vs Stock (my best run stock was 12.01)

PS: i had no launch control since i havent done my first service so i was launching at about 1200 rpm with a little bit of a bog... i had DSC(traction control) completely off , Enginge: Sport Plus, Suspension: Comfort, Steering: Sport Plus, and Transmission was on S3.

My next mods are Drag Radial, Meth, and Downpipes

JB4 is useless for M3/M4 F80. it is very limited. Wait for the coming Ecu remap.

Didn't look useless to me. Those are some good times, traps!

Nice times and the traps really show the potential. Fair warning, this is not yet a "drag race" oriented forum. Expect some interesting comments.

Downpipes will definitely help out.

I'd like to also see with the JB4. So far haven't seen any major pluses with DPs.

While I am not a fan of the piggyback method of tuning (JB4, ESS, Dinan, etc...), it is a pretty flat out falsehood that they are useless. The various piggybacks have been giving anywhere from 30ish rwhp to 100+ rwhp and have even been used to control an S55 with upgraded turbos, as well as others on methanol, E85, etc..

So to say the JB4 is useless is either ignorant, or deliberately provocative.

lol no, im in the water allot since i live in miami FL,and ripped off some skin after a long soak. its a bad habbit...

anyway, what proof do you want that the Jb4 is Incredible piece of equipment? I ran 11.50 with almost no mods at all. its also undetectable because the ECU still thinks its running 100% stock and it isnt touched in anyway...

anyway 11.50 makes me the second fastest F8X M3/M4 on dragtimes.com

http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW--M3-Drag-Racing.html

if your flash tune can do better, i would like to see some 1/4 mile times.

Finally this is my 3rd Turbo BMW and 4th Turbo Car. Downpipes Definetly Help. Espically with my BMW , it always added 20-30HP Dyno and Track Proven on Many Cars (give me a month and i'll show you

Very impressive what these cars can do with such little mods. Nice runs.

Outstanding runs! Trap shows this car has insane power... even at the 1/ 8th the car is trapping 97, which is monster power.

Also no one will match results with a flash like this until OBD2 is readily available... Unless there is some ass out there that bench reflashes their ecu for e85 or race gas and plans to run that way only all the time... Or if they re bench flash twice which would also be stupid.

See link below. Not sure what you mean by "limited." JB4 + air filter + DPs + race gas = max out the S55 turbos capabilities. Over 550hp/550ftlb, your stock turbos can't keep up. That's where PureTurbo Stage 2 upgrade comes in. But you will need to run on slick tires to get any useful traction. Hell, I'm having a hard time with traction on my stock F80.

If you keep waiting for something better, you'll never get to enjoy it now. I'm not a fan of waiting for vaporware or future products.

You can't install catless DPs w/o JB4 or a device that will manage the CEL. You would actually lose power if you install DPs w/o JB4 as the CEL will restrict your engine's performance. See dyno results below, 546ft lbs of tq is no joke.

Gains typically range 20-25hp. ar design gives 25-27 with their downpipes, and ER had similar gains I believe.

Removing the post turbo cats is an easy way to generate a lot of improvements, form more power, ability to run a higher map on your tune, to better turbo spool.

Why cant you use map 2 without downpipes??? where i live we have 93 octaine as the standard so i use map 2 as my daily driver. once i install my meth im going to be using map7. i dont know if the s55 is different but thats how i did things in my n54 days and never had a problem...

with your logic i cant use the racegas map with just racegas because that would also be too much for the downpipes, but i did that too. im going to get AR downpipes but as far as i can tell the stock downpipes are okay to use a bit more boost with...

11.5 125mph times are stout.. The 120 & 122mph traps are unexpected with the 11.5x times. The other 60' and 1/4mi times near identical, but ~126traps.

Can you get the DA?
