Is it good to accelerate to its fullest potential with high rev?
Sometimes I like to have fun with the car when having good temperature levels. You know, that moment when your car is stopped then I just push the acceleration pedal all the way it can until it hits 6 - 7 rpm. Like if you were drag racing. Or from 3-rev to 7-rev while going at speed-
I heard that it wears out the engine. But how bad? Will my car only last 100,000 km doing this? Also, sometimes I have had the music on and while being in manual, I don't hear the rev, and sometimes by mistake I suddenly notice that I had it running on the red line!!! Does it damage my car? How do I know if my car is damaged by that? How bad does it wear out? |

Lol.... Don't worry you won't wear out the engine! It's good to run it hard sometimes.

I red line my car daily. No harm in it as long as you do it when the engine is fully warmed up.

Personally, I think the engine can handle this type of treatment fine (i.e. to redline regularly). However, if the car is an automatic, that is the week link.

Not really. If he isn't tuned (and even with a mild tune) he'd be safely within the 332 lb-ft maximum torque rating for the ZF 6HP21.
