My Xenon headlights shake when I drive.
I just switched from halogen to Oem xenon lights and the Xenon lights shake when I drive. My adaptive function is disabled because I don't have the sensors and wiring yet. What can I do to fix the shaking or is that normal?

Mine do it too. I looked for a solution but haven't found one yet. My headlight housings are secure and tight, and don't really move at all when I push on them. I'm thinking it's something inside the headlight itself moving around.
Lots of people say it's normal, but it looks awful and makes it look like the lights are flickering.

So I went out and gently hit the top of my headlights with my fist and noticed that it's the entire module inside the headlight that is shaking. I could be wrong but I don't think there is any way to tighten it down.

If you purchased your headlights used... most of them come from crashed cars. With adaptive lights, I've found the pivoting system usually have broken clips. The ones I have on my car now have the same problem. I used some folded cardboard (can't be seen from outside) to secure them in place. Is card board the safest thing to use? Probably not considering the amount of heat. It's been a few months and I haven't had any issues lol.

Yesterday I was driving on the Freeway and there was a Ford Explorer and I saw there lights shake on the other cars bumpers. But if you look at the headlight is just normall.

This issue has been bugging me too. The xenons on my E46 stay rock solid on bumps or whatever but on my LCI E90 they shake like crazy. It looks shitty and cheap but as far as I know there's no fix save for brand new headlights which sadly do not come cheap.
I've learned to just deal with it especially after seeing 5 other E90's on the road with the same freaking issue. Guess it's a rather prevalent problem on these cars. |
