▀▄ eas | Macht Schnell - Exhaust Valve Control (EVC) Module - NEW lower price $395

Compatible with all exhaust systems (OEM or aftermarket) that retain the factory EVC control, the Macht Schnell Exhaust Valve Control (EVC) Module allows FULL user control of your exhaust system at the touch of a button. No clumsy key FOBs or additional equipment is needed - this is a 100% integrated solution and the first of its kind for current BMW models.

BMW's Exhaust Control Valve is integrated at the exhaust system end pipe of the muffler. The exhaust flap reduces the noise level when the engine is idle and when the engine speed is close to idle. This reduces the outlet noise to improve comfort to the driver. The reduction on a stock exhaust system is ~8dB on the stock exhaust system.

The Macht Schnell EVC Module supports the following features:
- FULL control over Exhaust Valve Control at the touch of a button - on the fly or while stationary
- Open/Close Exhaust Valve at YOUR command, or use BMW's factory profile for Exhaust Valve Control
- Optional User-defined Valve Control Setting at startup (Open/Closed) or default to OEM operation
- Quiet Cold Start in mornings compared to OEM operation
- Easy 20-minute installation process with no wire cutting
- No dealer visits or coding required after installation
- Completely removable at any time

New Features just added

Active Sound Configuration
- The option to configure the Active Sound is available in a variety of options for suit one’s needs. User has the option to deactivate Active Sound permanently, or only to operate within certain modes: for instance, while with the valve flap open, or only with valve flap closed.

1-Touch Comfort Window/Mirror Closing Upon Vehicle Locking
- Comfort Closing will allow the windows and/or mirrors to 1-touch close upon locking automatically. This option can be configured to only close windows, only fold mirrors or close windows/fold mirrors together automatically.

OBD2 Cycling
- OBD2 Cycling is helpful when performing diagnostics or clearing engine codes on a programmable timed cycle. Also useful for those running off-road track setups.

WARNING: Please note that certain aftermarket exhaust systems and/or accessories may not comply with applicable US (including California) laws and regulations, and may therefore be prohibited for use on highways or roads, or on roads or vehicles otherwise subject to emissions control requirements. California prohibits the use of any aftermarket exhaust system that modifies, removes or replaces original equipment catalysts, unless CARB has issued an Executive Order as to such part or system.

Increased Halo Brightness
- For those equipped with LED headlamps, the brightness level can be increased by approximately 40% for maximum intensity while driving

Passive / Invisible mode
Auto passive mode will allow factory electronic test equipment or other aftermarket devices to be utilized without causing irregularities in readouts or operation

Simply press the BC stalk for +2 seconds to change EVC modes. This is the feature that should have been standard from BMW.

The Macht EVC module utilizes the instrument turn signal indicators to give a visual confirmation of what particular mode you are in. Outside turn signals are not affected during operation and operate normally.

EVC Settings
Left Turn Indicator (single flash) = Exhaust Valve Open
Right Turn Indicator (single flash) = Exhaust Valve Closed
Both Turn Indicators (single flash) = Auto/OEM Mode (factory behavior)

User Configurable Settings
Feature Enabled: Resets EVC to default operaiton at vehicle startup
User-Defined: Remembers last used setting at vehicle startup

Additional Features
The Macht Schnell EVC module also has a user-configurable Check Engine Light Suppressor model for those running Catless downpipes.

Passive / Invisible mode
Auto passive mode will allow factory electronic test equipment or other aftermarket devices to be utilized without causing irregularities in readouts or operation

USB Port for easy setup / updates
Module can be configured and updated using via PC

Unique design features only to be found in Macht Schnell EVC Module
Fully E13 tested and certified: E13 10R-02 4133
Ultra-low power standby mode (less than 0.1mA)
InstallAID LED shows correct installation and status
Intuitive Setup menu for easy customization

Do you have a pic of what the actual module looks like and a brief DIY so we know exactly where this taps into?

Thanks. Very nice product.

How does it play with the given functionality of the button as it relates to the dash info? Is it possible to inadvertently reset my mpg figure while switching the valves?

Module is about the size of a business card. We'll post a DIY later in the week.

Possibly, if you are on that specific screen at that given moment. You can always press the BC button to choose another screen but it takes a +2 second press to activate the different features so that any vehicle-specific settings are not manipulated.

Cool. A little practice, and it should be easy to deal. Thanks!

Here is the ones that we know so far that retain the EVC;

Akrapovic
Arqray
BMW M performance
Eisenmann
Meisterchaft

We expect all new exhausts to also retain the EVC

As far as I'm aware, Meistershaft and iPE are the only two at the moment that use their own solution. Most everything else retains factory EVC.

Just installed mine tonight and WOW! I love it! Best mod yet! I have stock exhaust and love the sound with the valves open. I can imagine this car with DP is incredibly loud!
I thought $500 was a little steep but I think this is a must have mod for this car. Buy one now before the word gets out and they sell out!
Thanks to Kevin for getting this out to me so quickly.
Also a big thanks to Tom for walking me through updating the module.
EAS has great customer service!

Appreciate the feedback guys, everyone's that's stopped by for a listen has walked out with one. Installed a few more of these today.

For those in the OC area, we have a tester we you can listen with on your M3/M4 to get a hands-on demo in person.

Is it okay to plug the USB into a computer while the module is still plugged into the car? Basically I have the USB plugged in hanging under the panel in case I want to change some settings. It will probably be okay as long as I don't have the ON while plugged in correct?

Module can still be connected to flash, not a problem. Some even leave the USB cable connected and accessible for configuration changes.

I don't know if I missed this but does the unit need to stay plugged in the OBDII port to work, especially to remove DP CEL? Or How does it connect to the car?
Would it be ok to leave the unit plugged in for servicing?

You tap into the OBD wires, you don't plug it in the OBD port. You then tuck the small unit behind a panel somewhere. Velcro is included.

Correct, this keeps the OBD2 free for other devices/diagnostic equipment.

How were you guys able to install this? The first step (actually the step before the first step) in the instructions is to download MSConnect from www.machtschnell.com/usb/msconnect.zip. But when I type in that link, it just goes to the Macht Schnell homepage. Searching for MSConnect on the Macht Schnell website finds nothing. I've tried using Internet Explorer, Chrome, and 2 different computers. No luck finding the download. Kind of frustrating to not be able to make it past the step before step 1.
