Warranty expires in 6 months / 7k miles - Wait on walnut blasting?
I currently have 6 months or 7k miles left on my warranty. I am sitting at 92k miles on my 07 335i. I've been debating on getting going to a local performance shop to get a walnut blasting to help prevent the turbos from going out. The cleaning will cost around $350.
Would it be a better idea for me to wait till my warranty expires before I get this done? I guess I'm just concerned about my stock turbos. I doubt the turbos will go out before my warranty expires but would hate to see them go out shortly after it expires. thoughts? |

Wlanut blasting will not help prevent your turbos from failing, your intake valves are after the turbos, the air that goes through them is being pushed from the turbos.

+1..walnut shell blasting the intake valves have nothing to do with your turbos. That said, if you've got drivability issues like rough idle, hesitations or lack of throttle response, you may want to take it in before the warranty is up. I've noticed the dealer runs to the walnut blast pretty fast with these symptoms. They've done mine three times and I have 57k miles...the last time was probably unnecessary (the SA said there was very little build up on the valves) but hey, it was free.
