New to the e92 fam and the forums here
How's it's going fellas (And ladies)
My name is Elias from Edmonton, AB, CAN. I purchased a 2011 BMW 335i this week I take possession of the car on Wednesday (Dealer had to order and replace the windshield as it had a crack in it) Although i'm new to the e92 I am no stranger to BMW's... this will be my 4th BMW. These are the only pictures I have currently... Pulled of the website when it was up for sale. Previously owned a 1987 318i e30, 1992 325i e36 & 2003 325i e46 All sedans so this is my first coupe I do 90% of the work myself and plan on doing the maintenance side of things at home and the bigger jobs at dealer/indy's as I had bought the warranty. with that being said, I can't for the life of me find anything about N55 motor serpentine belts, tensioners and pulleys... Is it the same procedure as the N54?? Because I found a bit of info on that Looking forward on getting the car next week and spending some time on the forums |

Look in the DIY section for my post on N54 belt, tensioner and both pulleys.
Not sure how different it will be for the N55. Here check this link, but confirm with your vin first before relying on this info. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...92&hg=11&fg=18 Just remove the intake duct work and everything should be clear as MUD. Confirm with dealer on Torque settings. Just curious, why are changing these? How many Km? Welcome fellow Canadian. DN Last edited by BashShah; 01-24-2015 at 10:57 PM.. |

Car has 79 thousand KM (that's aprox. 50 thousand miles for my american friends) and I don't have any history of the car. belt and pulleys are probably due for a change I'd assume... also have the car lined up for a walnut blast once I have it |

Yep, Walnut blast is due.
Line up spark plugs and Coils in about another 15-20k km. EBay seller Germanautosupply. As for the belt and pulleys.....I think it really becomes an issue at 160k km. Or upon inspection.....mine had a play in it....like moving sideways about quarter inch on the upper pulley......so didn't risk it and changed it. I just did mine and I at 104k. Invest in a BMW diagnostic scanner. USB to OBDII cable and software on a laptop. Go to any BMW Dealer Service Dept and as for a work history on the vehicle. Once you are the owner, they should give it to you. Else find another dealer. DN |

The LCI e92 has better reliability because I did hear they were redesigned and there is less tension/pressure on the belts now and searching this topic on the forums and not finding much is actually a good thing I did read somewhere else that around 160K is when they should be changed.... again it will all come down to when I pick up the car and inspect said belt thoroughly. I have the OBD2 scanner USB for the e46 i'm just going to have to search my unit and see if its compatible with the new ride. I bought the car from BMW for i'll just ask for the service records when I pick her up Thanks for all your help man! I really appreciate it |

Haven't gotten the chance to enjoy this car as much as I'd like ti (due to the snow and summer tires that it came with) but I do love it overall Hopefully next pay i'll pickup some new winter rubbers |
