Heated seats query

Hi guys
I've seen some m sport seats for sale, and figure they would be a good upgrade for my not so great se seats.
Thing is, the seller isn't sure if they are heated, so question is, is there any way to check they are heated without taking anything apart? And would it be much work to change over the heating elements over from the se seats to the sports ones?
Thanks in advance

Or look at the modules under the seats

Ah ok, I'll contact the seller and see if he still has the Vin, if not, I'll go and see them for myself and look for the modules.
Cheers for that

I looked into this a few months back before changing cars and think that the heating elements in the sports seats are different to the se seats due to the retractable thigh supports.

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone here will correct me...

Heated seats will have a black box underneath.

This doesn't meant they are heated - as the same module is used for heated & memory.

You need to look at the number of wiring plugs going into the module.

On the E92 it appears the SE and sport trim use the same seats don't they? I'm pretty sure when I was searching for mine all the cars I came across (SE and sport) I checked the options list and all of them came up with the same seat option as standard spec.

Only going according to the ones I came across but certainly seemed to be the case. Have to say it's the first model I have seen like that so was quite surprised as usually SE spec seats have always been different.

I believe the only E9x SE to have the sports seats fitted as standard was the 335i/d.

OP - I'd say the easiest way to tell if the seats are heated is to run your finger over the bit you sit on. Towards the back you can feel the wire which connects the heating element.
