335d power loss high revs

I was on a national speed limit road this evening and did I nice overtake with the car pulling as it should. Once I got to a roundabout and powered on again I had boost up to 2.5 - 3k revs but then nothing.

I tried the kick down and the revs increased but there was no boost. Almost as if the first turbo was working but the second one not.

Anyway I pulled over and switched the engine off for a minute then gave it another couple of runs up and down the A road and it seemed to have sorted it.

I am aware of issues the other way around with vacumn pipes but not the issue I experienced.

Any ideas?

It's a start. I can't think of anything that it could be.

The diesel filter was changed around 15k miles ago
