Roof Rack Experts Needed!
Hi guys,
I am a roof rack newbie. I'm looking to get a Thule Snowboard flat top carrier (I need to carry at least four snowboards) However, I need them to slide onto the BMW OEM load bars, since I already own these for multiple vehicles. I DO NOT want to use any universal clamp type adapters. See example in this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ight=roof+rack I'm pretty much looking for that exact configuration. According to that thread, I need the Thule "xadapt9" in addition to the Thule flat top carrier. Does anyone know if this is correct? Will these adapters allow me to slide the Thule carrier onto my OEM bars? Will the adapters fit on any Thule attachment? Thanks in advance.

Not quite the same but.. I have the Thule canoe mounts that I have been using on my e90/e87. They are made to clamp (wrap around ) whatever bar you are using. They also have the holes drilled through them for the t-bolts (or t-nuts) I was tired of the clamp style mount ion did and purchased some 1” wide bar stock that is about 1/4” thick, some m6 internal Allen head bolts. I cut the bar stock into 1” lengths, drilled them in the center and then cut m6 threads in them. I them put 5-6 coats of plastidip to keep them protected from the weather to avoid the rust
Viola, custom mounting of the canoe mounts. Works like a dream!
