Is it possible to "manually" point the AHL bulb?
Hi guys,
If you see the picture below, my drivers side light is stuck pointing left on my 2008 335i Sedan. I assume that is why I'm constantly getting the AHL light on my dash. I was wondering if there was some way to simply point the light straight ahead until I get the AHL's fixed? Would it be possible to also code out the AHL error in the interim as well? |

Whoa, I didnt know they even swung that far. I assume the adjuster fell off or broke. I dont think using the manual adjuster will ever get you back to zero.

Thanks. If there is some kind of mechanical thing wrong then that may be good news. I could possibly fix it without to much work. The drivers side pictured doesn't move at all, ever. My passenger side light seems normal and does the usual startup dance routine.
I have a little bit of condensation inside the lens on rainy days so my theory was that my module went bad which resulted in the lazy eye. But I'd much prefer just a loose arm or something to be the issue. |

So...does anyone know how to manually point the light? I did't want to take everything apart only to find that everything is sealed and it's not possible to move the bulb at all.

There's a hatch on the back side of the headlight housing. Pop it open. I'm 80% certain that the arm that connects the light to the motor that moves the light popped out. It's just a ball joint that holds it in. Self adjusting wont do anything in this case.
